I was looking for a Jerkbait that I could use to target River Smallmouth in the winter. Jerkbaits are a total winter confidence bait for me for largemouth in Indiana but not for smallies. That all changed because of this lure 2 days ago. I was fortunate enough to be at the right place at the right time with this lure. The middle of December in Northen Indiana can be brutal fishing.
It casts very well for its size compared to other smaller size jerkbaits. It dives to 3ft which is perfect for my rivers. It suspends very well, walks the dog underwater and even has a roll and flash. In 45 minutes I hooked 8 smallies and landed 6, the biggest was close to 18”. Talk about a confidence boost. The Arkansas Shad colorway is a great shad imitator.
This lure just earned a permanent spot in my river arsenal. Great Job on this one THUNDERHAWK.
